How I Work

My approach is carefully chosen, drawing upon a variety of theoretical models & tailored to suit the individual needs of the client.  The initial task for the therapist is to provide a confidential space, offering a non-judgemental, respectful attitude in which there is a genuine intention to understand the issues which the client wishes to discuss.

The relationship that develops between the client & their therapist has long been recognised as constituting the cornerstone of effective therapeutic work.

I have experience working in a solution-focussed, time-limited way, looking at specific issues clients bring to therapy. Sometimes clients wish to work in a more relaxed open ended way, addressing issues as they arise & exploring at a pace the client is comfortable with. This type of client-led therapy can be very rewarding.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their code of ethics.
