About Counselling

We sometimes feel stressed, depressed, confused or unable to cope with what is going on in our lives. Counselling is there to help you to make choices and changes, reduce confusion and deal with difficult feelings. Through Counselling, you will be able to explore aspects of your life, and your feelings about it, and talk things through freely and openly in a way that is rarely possible with even the best friends and family. I will neither judge nor give advice, but will guide you to a better understanding of why you feel the way you do.

 

Counselling effectiveness depends largely on the relationship between you the client and your Counsellor, regardless of the counselling or psychotherapy approach. The therapeutic relationship can offer the space to talk through issues, explore situations and feelings without feeling judged.  I provide a safe and supportive environment in which to explore problems, which can enable you, the client, to come to a better understanding of your experiences.  This can help to build confidence and increase self-esteem, improve the ability to cope and find alternative ways in which to deal with difficult situations in a more informed way.
